Do you remember Aakash Tablet? i yes then DataWind is the Oficial makers of Aakash tablets, which we heard a Lot but not Yet Seen:P but now the DataWind has launched 4 new Versions of UbiSlate the Low Cost tablet brand under DataWind, 4 new tablets called the UbiSlate 7Ri, UbiSlate 7R+, UbiSlate 7Ci and UbiSlate 7C+.
UbiSlate 7Ri, 7R+, 7Ci and 7C+ low cost tablets

All the new launched Tablets by UbiSlate are of 7inch and esistive or capacitive screen with price tag between Rs. 2,900 to Rs. 5,000.
We can imagine the Whole Aakash project was a big disaster and the trend which still continues because it was impossible for people to communicate with DataWind and for now these tablets they are using the same traditional method which they used for Aakash called “Pre Book now” i had never understand that why can’t distribute the Tabs to online store so people can easily order them
There have been a lot o tragedy with the Aakash Tablet Booking. User’s who paid viaq checks received the Tablet but the Unlucky Didn’t received and we think now DataWind really want s to do business by making this new 4 Models
DataWind Launched 4 New Tablets under the UbiSlate Tag
DataWind has finally realised that they need a powerful processor and the newest tabs do live up to that expectations. The specs are good and to control the price barrier they come with resistive and capacitive screen options, the resistive screen being more budget friendly.

These UbiSlate Tablets have been Prices between 2,900 to 5,000 Indian Rupees and the process is the same, pre-book from Ubislate.com website then you have to wait and Wait like Aakash. however we cant say because this are not the Aaksah, so you may get this Tablet earlier if you Pre Book it. But ALso there are so many Tablets of renowned Brands are available ate low Costs, so we its hard for UbiSlate to Survive in this Tablet Markets.

So just we hav to can wait, wait , wait…! Coz government works are always much slower.. and we are not sure abt the promises made by Political leaders.! Neways.. these are cheap products which can also be buied from the WEbsite, But i would rather Suggest to Buy another Low Cost ANdroid ICS Talet like Micromax Funbook which are much better comparing this Ubislate tablets
Ali,
Very helpful information.
You are right when you mentioned about the non-existent customer contact features and Datawind’s reluctance to distribute through online outlets.
I almost decided to buy Ubislate 7c but after reading your post I decided not to buy.
Thanks for the post.
Hmmm..
because it is impossible to contact Datawind via Phone or Even by Email Support.
If these tablets are avalible on Online Stores, Then only user’s will take interest to Buy this.
Otherwise There are many Tablets avalible in Market in This Price TAg
nice post mate…..lot of thanx
THANXXXS ! FOR THE INFORMATION BRO!!!!!!!!!
Nothing is mentioned on their official website.. the one which is on pre book has a 800 MHz processor but not with these specs.. I think it will take a month or 2 more to have hands on reviews.
We already have BSNL Penta IS701C at 5K but that does not have call faclitiy. For a revolution in India on Education and internet connectivity the tab should have call facility and GPRS internet, tablets with Wi-Fi are useless for rural students. These tablets should be not be targeted to IIT students as they already have superphones and computers with internet and even Wi-Fi’s but what about the student in a rural area studying in 10th and above. Is there any plan to provide Wi-Fi hotspots in rural schools and colleges for free? I dont think there is any, that’s why a tab with call and GPRS functionality is the best thing the government can provide to such students at a low cost as they can afford a Rs 100 plan per month.
Totally Agree with you Ravi..
The AAkash which had call acility in low cost.. has not been seen anywhere still…
and these upgraded version Does not have inbuilt SIM slots..
bt we hope Soon Some companies will release the GPRS Functionality in Low cost tables soon!
Datawind is selling used tabs when i opened the box there are many scratches on screen it does not look like new one and there is no contact information on the box or in website there customer support also not working.
Battery backup is very less it lost battery in less than an hour.
I don’t recommend it to any one.
Bought Datawinds ubislate 7ci. . . . . in just rs. 4000/-
*capasative touch screen 7 inches awsm.
*android 2.3 gingerbread awsm.
*front camera not bad.
*wifi net speed superb.
*3g internet awsm.
-battery backup very bad, 1 hour only runs while gaming.
-SIM card not enabld.
but it is better then BSNL’s penta tab, and other same price range brands . .
funbook is better then dis bt price is higher. . .
