Sony has launched a new tablet, the Xperia Tablet Z, that it claims will be the slimmest tablet in the world. For a world obsessed with a slim figure, this tablet is likely to cause some stir. The Xperia Tablet Z is just 6.9mm in width. The tablet will be launched in the company’s hometown, Japan in the coming months. Design

At 0.27 inches, the Xperia Tablet Z is thinner than the iPad mini which is 0.29 inches. With its “world’s thinnest” slate like body the Tablet Z weighs proximately 490 grams which earns it the lightest tablet title and makes it handy to carry  round in your satchel. The Tablet Z runs on the Android 4.1 JellyBean operating system which is endowed with Android’s latest feature Project Butter, and offers smooth user interface, Google Now, a better camera interface and many other Android features. The latest version of Android available in the market is the 4.2 JellyBean, however, since the tablet has a few more months to release, buyers might get the latest version still.
